Terms & Conditions (Terms of Service)
Effective date: 1 January 2027
Version: 2.0
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Advora mobile application, the Advora website at www.advoralegal.com, the lawyer web portal, law firm workspaces, and any related services, features, and content (together, the "Platform" or "Service"), operated by Advora Legal, Pakistan ("Advora", "we", "us", or "our"). Please read these Terms carefully before using the Platform. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
1.1 By downloading, installing, accessing, browsing, registering for, or otherwise using the Platform in any way, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by any documents expressly incorporated by reference (including our Privacy Policy). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform.
1.2 If you are using the Platform on behalf of an organization or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms, and references to "you" include that entity.
1.3 Your continued use of the Platform after any modification of these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms, as further described in Section 23 (Changes to Terms).
1.4 These Terms apply to all users of the Platform, including individuals seeking legal consultation or representation ("Clients"), independent lawyers offering such services ("Lawyers" or "Providers"), and casual visitors.
2. Eligibility & Age
2.1 The Platform is intended for use by individuals who are at least eighteen (18) years of age. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, if higher) and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
2.2 Minors. The Platform is not directed to, and may not be used by, individuals under the age of 18 except where a parent or legal guardian (a) is themselves an eligible adult user, (b) has provided verifiable consent in a manner acceptable to Advora and required by applicable law, and (c) agrees to be bound by these Terms on behalf of and together with the minor and to supervise the minor's use of the Platform. Where such verifiable guardian consent has not been obtained, minors must not use the Platform.
2.3 We reserve the right, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, to request proof of age, identity, or guardian consent at any time, and to suspend or terminate any account for which such proof is not satisfactorily provided.
2.4 You further represent that you are not barred from receiving the Service under the laws of your country of residence or any other applicable jurisdiction, and that you are not located in, or a resident of, any territory in which use of the Platform would be unlawful.
3. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply:
3.1 "Advora", "we", "us", "our" means Advora and, where the context requires, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, contractors, licensors, and successors.
3.2 "Platform" / "Service" means the Advora mobile application, the Advora website, the lawyer web portal, law firm workspaces, and all associated software, content, features, and functionality.
3.3 "Client" means a user who accesses the Platform to discover, browse, contact, book, or engage independent Lawyers for legal consultation, advisory, or related services.
3.4 "Lawyer" / "Provider" means an independent lawyer who creates a listing or profile on the Platform to offer legal consultation, advisory, or related services to Clients.
3.5 "User", "you", "your" means any person who accesses or uses the Platform, including Clients, Lawyers, and visitors.
3.6 "Content" means any text, images, profiles, certificates, credentials, messages, reviews, ratings, audio, video, or other materials uploaded, submitted, posted, transmitted, displayed, or otherwise made available through the Platform.
3.7 "Legal Services" means the legal consultation, advisory, or related services that a Lawyer may provide to a Client. Legal Services are provided solely by the Lawyer and not by Advora.
3.8 "Verified Lawyer" badge means a visual indicator that Advora may, in its sole discretion, display in connection with certain Lawyer listings, as described in Section 6.
3.9 "Case Tools" means the features that let a Lawyer or law firm record and manage cases, hearings, documents, tasks, and fee entries, and share selected information with a client.
3.10 "Listing Fee" means the fee a Lawyer pays Advora to be listed on the Platform.
4. Description of Service
4.1 Advora is only a platform. Advora provides technology that enables Clients to find, contact, and arrange to engage independent Lawyers, and provides Lawyers and law firms with Case Tools. That is all Advora does. Everything between a Client and a Lawyer, including advice, conduct, fees, and payment, is solely between them and at their own risk.
4.2 Advora is not a law firm. Advora does not provide, and is not in the business of providing, legal advice, representation, or any other regulated legal services. Advora is not a law firm, legal clinic, or lawyer-referral service, and nothing on the Platform should be interpreted as such.
4.3 No attorney–client relationship with Advora. No attorney–client, fiduciary, or other professional relationship is created between you and Advora by your use of the Platform. Any such relationship, if formed, exists solely between the Client and the independent Lawyer.
4.4 Lawyers are independent. All Lawyers listed on the Platform are independent practitioners. They are not employees, partners, agents, representatives, or contractors of Advora, and Advora does not employ, supervise, direct, or control any Lawyer or the manner, methods, timing, or substance of any Legal Services. Advora does not assign, allocate, or refer specific Clients to specific Lawyers.
4.5 No responsibility for Legal Services. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Advora is not responsible or liable for the acts, omissions, advice, conduct, competence, qualifications, recommendations, statements, or outcomes of any Lawyer or for any Legal Services obtained through the Platform. Decisions about whether to engage a Lawyer, and reliance on any Legal Services, are made by the Client at the Client's own discretion and risk (see Section 17, Assumption of Risk).
4.6 Advora may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time, with or without notice, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
4.7 Case Tools. Case Tools are record-keeping software. The Lawyer or law firm using them decides what to record and share, is responsible for the accuracy of their records and for meeting every court date and deadline, and remains responsible for their professional and confidentiality duties. A reminder from the Platform is a convenience, not a guarantee.
4.8 Records kept on a device. A Lawyer who chooses to keep case records on their own device is responsible for backing them up and for keeping their passphrase safe. Advora cannot see or recover those records.
5. Client Choice; No Endorsement or Recommendation
5.1 Independent selection. Clients independently select their own Lawyer. Advora does not choose a Lawyer for any Client and does not operate any legal-needs "matching engine" that assesses suitability of a particular Lawyer for a particular Client's condition.
5.2 No endorsement. Advora does not recommend, endorse, vouch for, rank by quality, refer, or promote any Lawyer. The inclusion of a Lawyer on the Platform is not an endorsement, certification, or guarantee of that Lawyer by Advora.
5.3 Listing order is not an endorsement. The order, ranking, prominence, sequence, or manner in which Lawyers or search results are displayed (which may be affected by factors such as search relevance, availability, location, filters you apply, Client preferences, or other operational considerations) does not constitute a recommendation, endorsement, or representation by Advora as to the quality, suitability, or fitness of any Lawyer.
5.4 Your due diligence. You are solely responsible for evaluating, selecting, and verifying the suitability of any Lawyer, including by reviewing their stated credentials, asking questions, and exercising your own independent judgment before and during any engagement.
6. Verification of Lawyers; "Verified Lawyer" Badge
6.1 Pre-activation credential review. Every Lawyer is required to submit their professional licence(s), registration(s), certificate(s), or equivalent credentials during onboarding. A Lawyer account is not activated, made visible to Clients, or able to receive bookings until Advora's operations team has reviewed the submitted documents and approved the account. Advora may verify the authenticity or status of a submitted credential with the issuing authority or other appropriate sources, may request additional information or documents at any time, and may suspend or deactivate a Lawyer account where a credential appears to have lapsed, been suspended, or been revoked, or where other concerns arise.
6.2 The only check we make. The only thing Advora checks about a Lawyer is their bar licence or equivalent practising licence, by reviewing the document they submit. We check nothing else. We do not check a Lawyer's experience, competence, specialisms, reputation, disciplinary history, criminal record, insurance, or the accuracy of their profile, and we do not monitor their licence after approval. This check is not a guarantee, and we do not supervise any Legal Services.
6.3 No warranty as to Lawyers. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Advora makes no representation or warranty, express or implied, regarding any Lawyer's qualifications, identity, licensure, experience, competence, character, fitness, insurance, or suitability, or regarding the accuracy or completeness of any information a Lawyer provides.
6.4 "Verified Lawyer" badge. Advora may, in its sole discretion, display a "Verified Lawyer" badge (or similar indicator) in connection with Lawyer listings. The badge means only that Advora has reviewed the Lawyer's licence document as described in Section 6.2. It cannot be bought separately, and paying the Listing Fee does not by itself earn it.
6.5 What the badge does not mean. The "Verified Lawyer" badge is not an endorsement, recommendation, referral, ranking, or guarantee of quality, competence, or outcomes, and does not imply that a badged Lawyer is superior, more qualified, more suitable, or safer than any Lawyer who does not display the badge. Consistent with Section 5, the presence or absence of the badge does not constitute a recommendation or endorsement by Advora, and Clients remain solely responsible for selecting their own Lawyer. Advora may add, change, suspend, or remove the badge or its criteria at any time, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
7. Emergency Disclaimer
7.1 THE PLATFORM IS NOT FOR EMERGENCIES. Advora and the Platform are not designed for, and must not be used in, life-threatening, safety, or other emergencies. The Platform does not provide emergency, urgent, or crisis services and cannot dispatch emergency responders. 7.2 IF YOU OR ANY OTHER PERSON IS IN DANGER, DO NOT USE THE PLATFORM. Instead, immediately call your local emergency services number (for example, 911, 112, 999, or the equivalent in your country) or go to the nearest police station or emergency room. 7.3 Communications sent through the Platform may not be read or responded to immediately and are not monitored for emergencies. Reliance on the Platform in an emergency may result in delay of, or failure to obtain, necessary help, for which, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Advora is not responsible.
8. No Legal Advice; Not a Law Firm
8.1 The Platform, and any content made available by Advora itself (as distinct from content provided by Lawyers or other users), is provided for general informational and facilitation purposes only and does not constitute legal, financial, or other professional advice. This includes any free intake conversation you have on the Platform before booking a Lawyer: it helps you describe your case and find a suitable Lawyer, but it is not legal advice and does not create an attorney–client relationship with Advora or with any Lawyer until you have engaged that Lawyer directly.
8.2 Nothing on the Platform is intended to be, or should be used as, a substitute for individualized legal advice or representation from a licensed lawyer. You should always seek the advice of a qualified professional with any questions regarding a legal case, and never disregard or delay seeking professional advice because of anything accessed through the Platform.
8.3 Any advice, opinion, or information provided by a Lawyer is the sole responsibility of that Lawyer and does not represent the views of Advora.
8.4 Notice before every call or contact. Before every call and every time you reach out to a Lawyer, the Platform shows you a notice that Advora is only a platform, that it checks only the Lawyer's licence, that it is not responsible for the Lawyer's advice or services, and that any payment is between you and the Lawyer. By continuing, you confirm that you have read and accepted that notice, and it forms part of these Terms.
9. User Accounts & Responsibilities
9.1 Registration. To access certain features, you must create an account and provide accurate, current, and complete information, and keep that information up to date. Accounts may be created using supported sign-in methods (which may include third-party authentication providers); your use of such methods is subject to the applicable third-party terms.
9.2 Account security. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not authorized by you. You must notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Advora is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your credentials.
9.3 One account; accurate identity. You agree not to create more than one account except as expressly permitted, not to impersonate any person or entity, and not to misrepresent your identity, role, affiliation, or eligibility.
9.4 Acceptable use. You agree to use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for ensuring that your use complies with all laws, rules, and regulations applicable to you.
9.5 Suspension and termination. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Advora may suspend, restrict, deactivate, or terminate your account or access to the Platform, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice or cause, including for any actual or suspected violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Platform and request closure of your account at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 24) shall survive.
10. Lawyer / Provider Terms
10.1 Independent contractor status. Each Lawyer acknowledges and agrees that they are an independent practitioner and not an employee, agent, partner, joint venturer, or representative of Advora. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint-venture relationship between any Lawyer and Advora. No Lawyer has authority to bind or make representations on behalf of Advora.
10.2 Licensing and compliance. Each Lawyer is solely responsible for (a) holding and maintaining all licences, registrations, certifications, qualifications, and insurance required to lawfully provide Legal Services in every jurisdiction in which they practice or in which their Clients are located; (b) complying with all applicable laws, professional standards, codes of conduct, ethical rules, and regulatory requirements; and (c) determining whether they may lawfully provide services to any particular Client.
10.3 Taxes. Each Lawyer is solely responsible for determining, reporting, collecting, remitting, and paying all taxes, levies, and contributions arising from their provision of Legal Services and any amounts they receive through or in connection with the Platform.
10.4 Accuracy of submitted information. Each Lawyer represents and warrants that all information, certificates, credentials, and Content they submit are true, accurate, current, complete, and not misleading, and that they have the right to submit them. Lawyers must promptly update any information that becomes inaccurate or out of date, including the lapse, suspension, or revocation of any licence or credential.
10.5 Responsibility for services. Each Lawyer is solely responsible for the Legal Services they provide, including obtaining informed consent, maintaining appropriate records, safeguarding client information in accordance with applicable law, carrying appropriate professional liability (malpractice) insurance, and managing the professional relationship with their Clients. Advora does not supervise or assume responsibility for any of the foregoing.
10.6 Lawyer indemnity. In addition to Section 15, each Lawyer agrees to indemnify and hold Advora harmless from any claim arising out of or relating to the Legal Services they provide, their professional conduct, their compliance or non-compliance with applicable law, or the accuracy of the information and Content they submit.
11. Payments, Fees & Refunds
11.1 What Advora charges. Advora charges Lawyers a Listing Fee to be listed on the Platform. Advora takes no commission on a Lawyer's consultation fees and charges Clients no fee of its own. A law firm using a firm workspace is also bound by the Law Firm Agreement and billed under it. Applicable fees and billing terms will be presented to you before you incur them. Unless stated otherwise, fees are exclusive of taxes, which you are responsible for where applicable.
11.2 Payment processing. Payments may be processed through third-party payment processors. Your use of such processors may be subject to their separate terms and privacy policies, and you authorize Advora and/or its processors to charge your selected payment method for amounts due. Advora is not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party payment processors, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
11.3 Payments are your own. Each Lawyer sets the price of their own Legal Services, and may offer some of them free of charge. Any payment for Legal Services is solely between the Client and the Lawyer and is made at their own risk. Advora is not a party to that arrangement and is not responsible for any fee, payment, non-payment, overpayment, refund, or loss. Where the Platform offers a payment or credit feature, it is only a technical tool provided for convenience, and using it does not make Advora a party to the arrangement or responsible for the Legal Services.
11.4 Cancellations, credits, and refunds. Most cancellations on the Platform are resolved with Advora Credit — an in-app credit balance, denominated in the currency you paid in, that never expires and can be applied toward any future booking on the Platform — rather than a refund to your original payment method. The specific rule that applies depends on the booking's status at the time of cancellation, as follows (the exact windows and thresholds are shown in the Platform at the time of booking and cancellation, and the version shown in-app at the relevant time controls):
(a) Confirmed bookings. If you cancel a confirmed, paid booking more than the credit window shown in the app (currently 48 hours) before its scheduled start, you receive the full amount you paid as Advora Credit. If you cancel within that window, no credit is issued for that booking.
(b) Unconfirmed, declined, or expired requests. If a booking request is cancelled by you or the Lawyer, declined by the Lawyer, or expires before the Lawyer confirms it, the full amount is returned to you as Advora Credit, applied instantly.
(c) Instant ("talk now") consultations. If an instant consultation cannot go ahead — for example, no Lawyer becomes available — the full amount paid is credited to your Advora Credit balance straight away, and may be refunded under paragraph (e).
(d) Lawyer cancellations and no-shows. If a Lawyer cancels a confirmed booking, or does not join a consultation as scheduled, the full amount is returned to you as Advora Credit, applied instantly, assessed on the facts of that booking in accordance with the Platform's policies.
(e) Advora Credit is personal to your account, non-transferable, and never expires. Only the portion of your Advora Credit that you actually paid for, and have not already used, is eligible for a refund; credit Advora adds to your account is spent first and is not itself refundable, unless Advora marks it refundable when it is added. Eligible credit may be refunded on request from the Advora Credit screen's Request a refund button, which refunds the whole refundable balance in that currency in one request. A refund follows your original payment method: a card payment is refunded to that card, while a bank-transfer payment, a card payment made more than around 90 days earlier, or credit with no traceable original payment requires your bank account details and is paid out manually by Advora. A refund request is reviewed by Advora and, once approved, is initiated straight away and usually reaches you within 5–7 working days. Credit cannot otherwise be exchanged for cash.
(f) If you believe a cancellation, credit, or refund was handled incorrectly, you may raise it through the in-app report mechanism described in Section 12.4; any such dispute is decided in accordance with Section 11.5.
Except as set out above, as required by applicable law, or as expressly stated at the point of purchase, fees paid to Advora are generally non-refundable. Eligibility for any credit or refund is determined in accordance with Section 11.5.
11.5 Payment disputes. A dispute about a Lawyer's fee or refund is for the Client and the Lawyer to resolve between themselves. Advora may, but has no obligation to, look into a dispute involving a payment or credit feature of the Platform, and any decision it makes about that feature is final. Nothing in this Section limits any non-waivable right you may have under mandatory consumer-protection or other applicable law, including any right to pursue a chargeback with your card issuer.
11.6 Failed or reversed payments. You are responsible for any costs Advora incurs as a result of failed, reversed, or disputed payments attributable to you, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
12. Cancellations, No-Shows & Complaints
12.1 Bookings, appointments, cancellations, rescheduling, and no-shows may be subject to the policies presented within the Platform and/or set by individual Lawyers. You are responsible for reviewing and complying with the applicable cancellation and rescheduling terms before booking.
12.2 Cancellation fees, no-show fees, or forfeiture of prepaid amounts (if any) are governed by the applicable policy in effect at the time of booking and by Section 11. Any dispute regarding such fees is subject to Advora's final-decision authority under Section 11.5, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
12.3 Advora does not guarantee the availability, punctuality, or attendance of any Lawyer or Client for any booking, and is not responsible for missed, delayed, cancelled, or rescheduled appointments, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
12.4 Consultation reports and disputes. The Platform may provide an in-app mechanism for a Client or a Lawyer to report a problem with a consultation (for example, that the other party failed to join). Such reports are subject to the eligibility rules, time limits, and other requirements presented in the Platform at the time of filing (which may include a limited filing window after the scheduled consultation and a limit of one report per consultation). Advora may, but is not obliged to, investigate any report, may request additional information, and may consider any relevant information available to it — including the consultation metadata and attendance records described in Section 15.4 — in reaching a decision. Decisions on reports and any related refunds are made in accordance with Section 11.5.
12.5 Evidence integrity. If you submit screenshots, images, or any other material in support of a report or dispute, you represent and warrant that such material is genuine, unaltered, and not misleading. Submitting false, fabricated, manipulated, or misleading reports or evidence is a material breach of these Terms and may result in rejection or reversal of any refund or other remedy obtained, recovery of any amounts paid out in reliance on such material, and suspension or termination of your account, in addition to any other remedy available at law, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
12.6 Automated remedies. Certain remedies may be applied automatically by the Platform in accordance with the policies presented in-app (for example, an automatic cancellation with the amount credited to Advora Credit where a Lawyer does not join an on-demand consultation within the time stated in the Platform). Any such automated remedy is limited to the amount actually paid for the affected consultation and does not create any entitlement to further compensation, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
12.7 Complaints. You can complain about a Lawyer or a Client through the Platform or by email to support@advoralegal.com. Advora may review a complaint and ask both sides for information.
12.8 What we can do. After or during a review, Advora may warn, restrict, suspend, or remove any Lawyer or Client, in its sole discretion and to protect users or the Platform. You can ask us to reconsider a decision by emailing support@advoralegal.com.
12.9 Limits of complaint handling. Advora is not a regulator, court, or bar authority. Handling a complaint does not mean that Advora supervises any Lawyer or accepts responsibility for them, and Advora does not owe compensation because of a complaint or its outcome. You may also complain to the bar authority that licenses the Lawyer.
13. Intellectual Property
13.1 Advora's rights. The Platform and all software, designs, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, service marks, trade names, user interfaces, and other materials provided by Advora (excluding User Content) are owned by or licensed to Advora and are protected by intellectual-property and other laws. Except for the limited licence granted below, no rights are granted to you.
13.2 Limited licence to you. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Advora grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform for its intended purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of any part of the Platform except as permitted by applicable law that cannot be contractually waived.
13.3 User Content licence. You retain ownership of Content you submit. By submitting Content, you grant Advora a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable licence to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt, and use such Content as reasonably necessary to operate, provide, improve, secure, and promote the Platform, to the extent permitted by applicable law and our Privacy Policy. You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant this licence and that your Content does not infringe any third-party rights or violate any law.
13.4 Feedback. If you provide suggestions or feedback about the Platform, you grant Advora an unrestricted, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use it for any purpose without obligation to you.
13.5 Infringement notices. If you believe Content on the Platform infringes your intellectual-property rights, please contact us at support@advoralegal.com with sufficient detail to allow us to investigate. Advora may remove allegedly infringing Content and/or terminate repeat infringers, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
14. Prohibited Conduct
14.1 You agree that you will not, and will not permit or assist any third party to:
(a) use the Platform for any unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or unauthorized purpose, or in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
(b) provide false, inaccurate, or misleading information, or misrepresent your identity, role, credentials, or affiliation;
(c) use the Platform to provide or solicit services you are not legally permitted to provide or receive;
(d) harass, abuse, threaten, defame, stalk, or harm any other user, Lawyer, or person;
(e) upload or transmit any Content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, infringing, harmful, deceptive, or that contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code;
(f) circumvent, disable, or interfere with the security, integrity, or proper functioning of the Platform, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems, accounts, or data;
(g) scrape, harvest, data-mine, crawl, or otherwise collect information or Content from the Platform without authorization, or use bots or automated means except as expressly permitted;
(h) offer Legal Services through a listing without paying the applicable Listing Fee, including by using another Lawyer's account or listing;
(i) interfere with, disrupt, or impose an unreasonable load on the Platform or its infrastructure;
(j) reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or exploit any part of the Platform without our express written permission;
(k) use the Platform in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair Advora or interfere with any other party's use of the Platform;
(l) record, photograph, capture, store, or distribute the audio, video, or content of any consultation, or of any communication with another user, without the express consent of all participants, except as permitted by applicable law; or
(m) submit any false, fabricated, manipulated, or misleading report, dispute, or supporting evidence (including altered screenshots or images), as further described in Section 12.5.
14.2 Violation of this Section may result in suspension or termination of your account and may expose you to civil and/or criminal liability. Advora reserves the right, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, to investigate and take appropriate action, including reporting to law-enforcement authorities.
15. Privacy
15.1 Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference and which describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information. Please review the Privacy Policy at www.advoralegal.com/privacy.
15.2 By using the Platform, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy, to the extent permitted by applicable law. Where applicable law requires specific consents (for example, for the processing of case-related or other sensitive data), such processing is carried out in accordance with those requirements.
15.3 Lawyers are independently responsible for their own handling of Client information in connection with Legal Services, including compliance with applicable confidentiality, data-protection, and professional-conduct rules, and are not relieved of those responsibilities by Advora's Privacy Policy.
15.4 Consultation metadata and attendance records. You acknowledge and agree that, for the purposes of dispute resolution, fraud prevention, safety, support, and the integrity of the Platform, Advora collects and processes technical metadata about consultations arranged through the Platform. This may include booking, cancellation, and rescheduling events; in-app presence signals (such as when a participant taps "Join" or remains on a consultation waiting screen); and attendance and telemetry records provided by the third-party video-conferencing service through which consultations are conducted, which may include participant display names, join and leave times, call duration, device type, IP address, and approximate location. Advora does not record, store, or listen to the audio or video content of any consultation. Consultation metadata and attendance records are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and may be relied upon by Advora in resolving reports and disputes under Sections 11 and 12.
15.5 Third-party conferencing services. Sessions are conducted through third-party video-conferencing services (currently Daily.co). Your use of such services is subject to the applicable third party's own terms and privacy policy, and Advora is not responsible for the availability, performance, security, or data practices of such third-party services, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
15.6 Case information. Messages, documents, and case records on the Platform may include privileged or confidential information. Our Privacy Policy describes how they are stored, who can access them, and what is kept after an account is deleted. Advora staff have no default access to case contents.
16. Disclaimers of Warranty
16.1 "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE". To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Platform and all Content, features, and services are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, with all faults and without warranties of any kind. Advora operates globally and makes no representation that the Platform is appropriate, lawful, or available for use in any particular location.
16.2 Disclaimer. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Advora, its affiliates, and its licensors disclaim all warranties, conditions, and representations of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, and non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
16.3 No warranty as to users or outcomes. Without limiting the foregoing, Advora does not warrant that: (a) any Lawyer is qualified, licensed, competent, safe, or suitable; (b) any Legal Services will be effective, safe, or of any particular quality or outcome; (c) the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, timely, or error-free; (d) any defects will be corrected; or (e) the Platform or its servers are free of harmful components. Any reliance on the Platform or on any Lawyer is at your own risk.
16.4 Jurisdictional limits. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain statutory rights. Accordingly, some or all of the above exclusions and limitations may not apply to you, and you may have additional rights. In such jurisdictions, Advora's warranties and liability are limited to the minimum extent, and for the shortest duration, permitted by applicable law.
17. Assumption of Risk (Clients)
17.1 You understand and agree that engaging a Lawyer and receiving Legal Services involves inherent risks, and that the choice of Lawyer and the decision to act on any Legal Services are made by you, the Client, at your own discretion and risk.
17.2 To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with (a) your selection of, and interactions with, any Lawyer; (b) the Legal Services you receive; (c) any in-person or remote communications or meetings; and (d) any reliance on information obtained through the Platform. You are responsible for taking reasonable precautions in all interactions with other users, particularly when meeting or communicating with any person.
17.3 Advora does not conduct in-person supervision of, and is not present during, any interaction between a Client and a Lawyer, and is not responsible for the conduct of any user, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
18. Limitation of Liability
18.1 Exclusion of indirect damages. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Advora or its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, contractors, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of (or inability to use) the Platform, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other legal theory, and whether or not Advora has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
18.2 We are not liable for what happens between users. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Advora is not liable under any circumstances for any loss or damage arising out of or relating to: the acts, omissions, advice, conduct, competence, licence status, or identity of any Lawyer; any Legal Services or their outcome; any fee, payment, refund, or fraud between users; a missed call, hearing, or deadline; the conduct of any Client; any interaction between users; any content provided by users; or any decision made on a complaint.
18.3 If liability cannot be excluded. If, despite the above, Advora is found liable to you under applicable law, then to the maximum extent permitted by that law its total aggregate liability for all claims shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount of fees you actually paid to Advora in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 100.
18.4 Jurisdictional limits. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages (including, in some cases, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation). Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and in such jurisdictions Advora's liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted by applicable law.
18.5 Basis of the bargain. The disclaimers and limitations in Sections 16 and 18 are an essential basis of the bargain between you and Advora and reflect a reasonable allocation of risk, given that Advora is a technology platform and not a provider of Legal Services.
19. Indemnification
19.1 To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Advora and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, contractors, and licensors from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of or access to the Platform; (b) your violation of these Terms or any applicable law; (c) your Content or any information you submit; (d) your interactions with, or Legal Services provided to or by, any other user; (e) in the case of a Lawyer, the Legal Services you provide and your professional conduct and compliance; and (f) your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual-property, privacy, or publicity rights.
19.2 Advora reserves the right, at its own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any claim otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with Advora's defense. You may not settle any claim affecting Advora without Advora's prior written consent.
20. Global Use & Local-Law Compliance
20.1 The Platform is operated and offered globally. By accessing the Platform from any location, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with all laws applicable in your jurisdiction, including those governing eligibility to receive or provide Legal Services, professional licensing (including the unauthorized practice of law), consumer protection, taxation, data protection, and export controls.
20.2 Advora makes no representation that the Platform, or any Lawyer or service available through it, is appropriate, lawful, or available for use in every location. Access to the Platform from territories where its content or use is illegal is prohibited.
20.3 To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Advora disclaims warranties and liability in all jurisdictions in which it operates, subject always to mandatory local laws (including consumer-protection laws) that cannot be waived or excluded, which continue to apply to you.
21. Relationship Between the Website and the App; Publication of Terms
21.1 These Terms are published, and may be updated from time to time, on the Advora website at www.advoralegal.com and may also be made available within the Advora mobile application.
21.2 The Advora website and the Advora mobile application are part of a single, unified Platform and are governed by these same Terms. References in these Terms to the "Platform" or "Service" apply equally to the website and the app, except where a provision expressly states otherwise.
21.3 In the event of any inconsistency between versions of these Terms displayed in different channels, the version most recently published by Advora (as indicated by its Effective date and version number) shall be treated as the controlling version, except to the extent applicable law requires otherwise.
22. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
22.1 Governing law. These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to them, the Platform, or what they cover (including non-contractual disputes or claims) are governed by the laws of Pakistan, except to the extent that mandatory laws of your country of residence require otherwise.
22.2 Informal resolution. Before commencing any formal proceeding, you agree to first contact us at support@advoralegal.com and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for a period of at least thirty (30) days.
22.3 Arbitration (where permitted by law). To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform that is not resolved informally shall be finally resolved by binding arbitration seated in Pakistan and conducted in English under the arbitration law of Pakistan. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. This arbitration agreement does not prevent either party from seeking interim or injunctive relief from a court where available.
22.4 Class-action waiver (where permitted by law). To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you and Advora agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims or preside over any form of representative or class proceeding.
22.5 Mandatory-law carve-out. Nothing in this Section deprives you of the protection of any mandatory provision of the law of your country of residence, including any non-waivable right to bring proceedings in your local courts, to benefit from local consumer-protection laws, or to decline mandatory arbitration where such arbitration or a class-action waiver is not enforceable under applicable law. Where any part of this Section is unenforceable under applicable law as to a particular dispute or user, that part shall not apply to that dispute or user, and the dispute shall instead be resolved by a court of competent jurisdiction or, where required, your local courts.
23. Changes to Terms
23.1 Advora may modify, update, or replace these Terms at any time, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. When we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by posting the updated Terms on the website with a revised "Effective date", and/or by providing notice within the Platform.
23.2 Changes are effective when posted, unless otherwise stated or unless applicable law requires advance notice or consent. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Platform.
23.3 It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically. The current version is always available at www.advoralegal.com.
24. General Provisions
24.1 Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court or tribunal of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable or, if it cannot be so modified, severed, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
24.2 Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other documents expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and Advora regarding the Platform and supersede all prior or contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, and communications, whether written or oral, on that subject. Any additional or different terms in your communications are rejected unless expressly agreed by Advora in writing.
24.3 No waiver. No failure or delay by Advora in exercising any right under these Terms shall constitute a waiver of that right, and no single or partial exercise of any right shall preclude any further exercise.
24.4 Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any rights or obligations under them without Advora's prior written consent. Advora may freely assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
24.5 Force majeure. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Advora shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, epidemics, war, terrorism, civil unrest, governmental action, labor disputes, internet or telecommunications failures, or third-party service outages.
24.6 Relationship of the parties. Nothing in these Terms creates any partnership, joint venture, agency, fiduciary, or employment relationship between you and Advora.
24.7 Notices. Advora may provide notices to you via the Platform, by email to the address associated with your account, or by posting on the website. You may contact Advora as set out in Section 25.
24.8 Headings. Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect the interpretation of these Terms.
24.9 Language. These Terms may be made available in multiple languages. Where permitted by applicable law, the English version shall control in the event of any conflict.
