Refund & Return Policy
Effective date: 1 January 2027
Version: 2.0
Advora Legal ("Advora", "we", "us") is a platform that connects Clients with independent lawyers ("Lawyers"). Advora charges Clients nothing and takes no commission. We charge Lawyers only a fee to be listed. Any fee a Client pays a Lawyer, and any refund of it, is between the Client and the Lawyer. This policy explains how refunds work.
1. Digital service — no physical goods
Advora provides a digital matching and discovery service through a mobile app and website. There are no physical products to ship, and therefore no physical "returns". This policy explains how refunds are handled for amounts paid through or in connection with the Platform.
2. How charges work
Each Lawyer sets their own consultation fee. Payment of that fee is between the Client and the Lawyer and is made at their own risk, even where it is made using a payment feature of the Platform. Advora is not responsible for it. The fee Lawyers pay Advora to be listed is generally non-refundable, except where these terms or applicable law say otherwise.
3. Refunds for consultations
Because each fee relates to legal services delivered by an independent Lawyer, refunds for a consultation are primarily governed by that Lawyer's own cancellation, no-show, and refund terms. As a result:
- You should confirm a Lawyer's cancellation and refund terms with them before booking.
- Where Advora acts only as a limited facilitator and not as the provider of the Legal Services, Advora is not responsible for the Lawyer's pricing or refund decisions, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Processing time. A cancellation or a lawyer-side change (decline, no-show, or a dispute upheld in your favour) is credited to your Advora Credit balance instantly, and that credit never expires. Only the part of that credit you actually paid for, and haven't already used, is refundable — credit Advora adds to your account is spent first and is not itself refundable, unless we mark it refundable when we add it. To turn eligible credit back into money, open Advora Credit in the app and tap Request a refund. Refunds follow your original payment method: a card payment goes back to that card. A bank-transfer payment, a card payment made more than around 90 days ago, or credit with no traceable original payment needs your bank account details and is paid out by our team. This usually reaches you within 5–7 working days.
4. Cancellations & no-shows
Bookings, cancellations, rescheduling, and no-shows are subject to the policies presented within the app and/or set by individual Lawyers. Any cancellation fee, no-show fee, or forfeiture of a prepaid amount (if any) is governed by the policy in effect at the time of booking. Please review the applicable cancellation and rescheduling terms before you book.
5. How to request a refund or raise a concern
If you believe you are entitled to a refund, or you have a concern about a payment, charge, booking, or cancellation:
- For a consultation, contact your Lawyer directly to discuss their cancellation and refund terms.
- For anything paid to Advora, or for help, contact us at support@advoralegal.com with your account details and a description of the issue.
- To turn unused, refundable Advora Credit into money, open Advora Credit in the app and tap Request a refund — this refunds everything refundable in that currency in one go.
You can also report a problem with a specific consultation from that consultation's detail screen in the app.
We will review your request and aim to resolve it fairly through our internal dispute-resolution process. Where a refund is due, we will process it using your original payment method where reasonably possible.
6. Processing times
Where a refund is approved, the time it takes to appear in your account depends on your payment provider. Any approved refund handled by a third-party payment processor is subject to that processor's standard timelines.
7. Your legal rights
Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable rights you may have under mandatory consumer-protection or other applicable law, including any right to pursue a chargeback with your card issuer, to dispute a charge before a competent authority, or to any statutory refund or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund & Return Policy from time to time, particularly as payment features evolve. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy with a revised effective date.
